Despite facing complex economic challenges, the Pine Ridge Reservation is an
emerging market with the potential for tremendous growth. The Economic
Development Initiative at Red Cloud Indian School is laying the foundation for
that growth by supporting high-achieving Lakota students who wish to launch
businesses and invest in their communities

Building on Red Cloud’s work, CEMA and New Vision Venture Partners is helping turn Lakota business ideas into viable startups through strategic capital investments and effective business training and mentoring. Together, these efforts can create a thriving, Lakota-owned business community – and alter the economic realities on the Pine Ridge Reservation from within.
